Uncover Some Nefarious Tips and Tricks for Evil Genius 2: World Domination

All the best!

Before we get started, I want to say how incredible it is to see a new legion of masterminds joining us in our quest for world domination – Evil Genius 2 – World Domination Xbox Game Pass is now compatible with this item. You can now make your own Doomsday Device at home. I’m sure you’ll find them delightfully destructive.

Now, conquering the world isn’t easy. There’re all sorts of do-gooders out there looking to stop you, and you just know they have a training program to prepare their new recruits. So, let’s get you up to speed so you can start carving out your own criminal empire…

Choosing Your Genius

At the start any campaign, you’ll be faced with a choice: what flavour of evil are you? Every Genius has their own campaign. However, they each prefer different playstyles. Maximillian, a Genius who is great for beginners and focuses strongly on earning enough gold so that you can do anything.

If you’re interested in meeting your enemies head on with a wall of firepower, then ex-Mercenary Red Ivan, rules his Lair with a very literal Iron Fist.

Zalika on the other side prefers brains to brawn and heavily funds her research department. She also races through the technology tree. Ideal if you want to automate your Lair’s defences with a large network of traps.

And finally, lurking in the shadows, is Ex-Spymaster Emma, who seeks to deceive her enemies into believing there’s no threat… right until it’s too late to stop her.

Organise your Lair

Early in the game you’ll have a lot to build, and not very many places to put things. It’s perfectly fine to put a Power Station next to your Mess Hall, but as you expand, you’ll want to reconfigure your Lair.

It is important to keep your gains safe by putting your Vault away from the main entry. Less suspicious rooms, such as the Barracks, can go anywhere – and in fact, it can pay to have facilities for your minions scattered throughout the Lair. The less time they spend walking to and from their beds, the more time they spend working, after all…

While you can build one large room with all the generators, consider creating multiple smaller rooms that are hidden throughout your Lair. It takes just one bomb-wielding agent to bring down an entire large room full of valuable items. You can mitigate any damage caused by a single Agent wave. This is possible with planning and division of your Lairs rooms.

Officer, There is Nothing to See. This is your average casino.

Your Lair Investigators all want the same thing, evidence that you have committed wrongdoings. If they make it into your Lair, they’ll run rampant, snapping shots of anything suspicious. They could be killed, but it is suspicious that their highly trained agents never report to work. Dispose of enough Agents and eventually you’ll find yourself dealing with heavily armed soldiers.

This is where the Casino comes in. If you provide enough distractions and staff the casino with deceitful minions, investigators will be more inclined to spend time in it, eventually losing their determination. If you keep them trapped there long enough, they’ll eventually return home and report their findings: Which is that you’re a perfectly legitimate Casino.

It won’t keep them at bay forever – nothing ever does – but it will stop them from sending their more highly trained agents.

Do I Have to Do Everything by myself?

Answer in a short sentence: No.

But let’s face it: You’re the only Genius here. And yes, that means you’re surrounded by buffoons. Your Workers try their hardest but they’re an inherently trusting bunch and will often fall for the pathetic disguises worn by your enemies.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination

You and your Henchmen, however, are far more astute, and won’t fall for any such tricks. It’s worth taking the time to check your Lair regularly for unusual characters. Then, send a team of Henchmen to get rid of them.

Of course, eventually you’ll be able to train your minions to do a lot of this for you, especially if you provide them with a camera network.

Your Last Chance to Failing Me. And so have you. So have you. And…

Although your minions might do all they can to please you while you are away, their Smarts and Morale may drop if you work for too long. Your Genius can make a very motivating… example… of another minion to get the rest of them back on track. Be ready for the body bag.

Avoid traps

Minions can die – they can sleep – they can decide that this ‘Evil’ thing isn’t for them and desert your organisation.

The traps, which are unfeeling, cold machines, have no weakness.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination

Some traps like the Boxing Glove are very simple, and were created with one purpose. But as you advance through the tech tree, you’ll unlock more traps and be able to improve your trap network in all sorts of ways. A great way to ensure that no Agent leaves your Lair alive and well is to combine traps.

This is a great combination to help you get started. The Fan Trap can blow agents away and trigger any traps they may encounter along the way. Combine this with a series of boxing gloves and you’ll deliver a devastating one-two (-three-four-five-six) punch.

What’s the Hottest Thing in This Place?

Justice does not sleep. They are watching you from all corners of the globe and building their case against. Heat is the agent of this, and the more Heat you have the Agents are more likely to visit your Lair. Heat is generated from your actions on the World Map.

Evil Genius 2: World Domination

Do your best to keep your Heat low – or prepare your defences for a fight!

Best of luck

Hopefully, after all that, you’re feeling more prepared to take on the world. There’s a huge swathe of content in Evil Genius 2 – World DominationYou have so much to see, take your time and explore. It is worth pursuing a few delicious loot pieces. They’re powerful artefacts, but obtaining them may be something of a challenge…

Keep in mind: All of the universe is yours to take.
