Ubisoft Announces New 2D Prince Of Persia

Summer Game Fest opened with an unexpected, but impressive announcement. The remake of Prince of Persia Sands of Time continues to be developed, but Prince of Persia The Lost Crown represents a completely new game that is closer to Prince of Persia 2D’s roots.

The gameplay showed an impressive mix of flashy combat and high-speed platforming – much faster then the methodical platforming that inspired it. The Prince has always been the name of the main character, and he looks similar to his Sands of Time incarnation. However, he is a new, totally different character.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is released on January 16, 2019. Ubisoft will reveal even more details during the Monday event.
