Starfield delay, 2023 release date announced by Bethesda

Bethesda Softworks announces a new launch date to its sci-fi RPG Starfield, a massive galaxy-spanning game that builds off The Elder Scrolls’ gameplay and structure. Starfield draws inspiration from Bethesda’s own Elder Scrolls, including a silent protagonist and first-person conversations. You can also explore more than 100 starsystems, and there are more than 1000 planets that you can peruse. This gives it an enormous scope similar to the games like No Man’s SkyOr Elite: Dangerous.

“We have poured ourselves into this game, and even I’m surprised how much we can pour,” says game director Todd Howard in the launch date announcement video. “It is large.”

You will find a StarfieldA direct showcase will be held on June 11th, revealing additional information about the game. Players can learn about the world and narrative as well as the characters that they will meet on their adventure. “There’s so much we still have to show you,” says Howard. “This game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.”

He adds, “We know you’ve waited a long time to play something new from us. Believe it or not, we’re kind of the same. It’s what we miss. We can’t wait for you all to play it.” StarfieldAvailable on Windows PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox 360 at launch. Game Pass will also be available from day one.
