Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pikachu 7-star raid — best counters
While the fourth Pokémon Scarlet Violet A seven-star Tera Raid should go as easily (Pikachu? seriously? The water Tera Type PikachuIt is actually holding a Light Ball. This makes it quite a beast.
Pikachu also gets a shield right away, so you will need to Terastilize it to do serious damage. It will also steal your Tera Orb charges quite often, which is quite annoying. Have no fear, there are quite a few good builds to take it out with ease using grass-type Pokémon and moves.
Pikachu is only allowed to raid from the waters Tera Type or Mightiest Mark. February 23rd at 7:59 PM EST to February 27th at 9:59 AM EST

Pikachu Tera Raid best counters
As of this writing, there a few good counters we’ve seen around: Arbolivia, Lurantis, and Clodsire.
Pikachu has reached level 100 and is a Water Tera Type. It can speak Thunder, Surf, Play RoughPlease see the following: Iron TailRain Dance and Rain Dance are also available. It’ll start the battle with Rain Dance and Surf right off the bat. Pikachu, as mentioned, will begin with a full Tera Shield, which makes any damage done negligible until it can Terastilize. To top it off, it’ll also steal your Tera Orb charge frequently, making this a bit of a stalling survival game. You’ll need to stay alive long enough to Terastilize. You can defeat Pikachu easily with your grass-type moves after you’ve made that much.
Because of its Lightning Rod ability, avoid using electric-type moves, as they won’t have any effect. You can leave your Iron Hands behind, friends. To neutralize the rat, stick to grass-type movements (derogatory).
There are many strategies to be used in these raids. Protean Meowscarada, and other grass-type build options, are just a few of them. Here are our top picks.
Pikachu Arbolivia Tera Raid build
- Nature: Moderation
- Ability:Sesame Seed Sower
- Tera Type:Grass
- EVs: 4 Special Defense/252 HP/252 Special Attack
- IVs: Maxed HP, Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack
- Document held:Covert Cloak
- Moveset: Giga Drain (TM111), Sunny Day (TM49), Energy Ball, Terrain Pulse
At the start of battle, use Sunny Day to override the Pikachu’s Rain Dance. You’ll want to negate the rain early or else Pikachu’s Thunder will hit with 100% accuracy. Spam Energy Ball until enough Tera Orb charges are available to Terastilize.
You can use healing cheers to help you and your party members get low. After Terastilizing, you can use Terrain Pulse or Giga Drain to take out the Pikachu.
Pikachu Lurantis Tera Raid build
- Nature: Moderation
- Ability:Contrary (hidden potential)
- Tera Type:Grass
- EVs: 4 Special Attack/252 HP/252 Special Defense
- IVs: Maxed HP, Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack
- Holding itemShell Bell or Covert Cloak
- Moveset: Giga Drain (TM111), Sunny Day (TM49), Leaf Storm (TM159), Synthesis
The strategy works in a similar way to the one above. Start with Sunny Day to override the Rain Dance (you don’t want Pikachu’s Thunder on 100% accuracy) and then use Leaf Storm to lower Pikachu’s Special Attack until you can Terastilize.
Use Synthesis to get you back up if your levels are low. After you have Terastilized, go ahead and do so.
Pikachu Clodsire Tera Raid build
- Nature: Moderation
- Ability: Water Absorb
- Tera Type:Grass
- EVs: 4 Special Defense/252 HP/252 Special Attack
- IVs: Maxed HP, Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack
- Holding item Shell Bell
- Moveset: Mud-Slap (TM5) and Helping Hand(TM130), Chilling Water, (TM22), Tera Blasts (TM171)
Clodsire is a great pick as it’s immune to Pikachu’s electric- and water-type moves. It can only use Iron Tail and Play Rough against you. None of these moves are very effective.
Start off by spamming Chilling Water and Mud-Slap to lower the Pikachu’s attack and accuracy. You should be able to use the moves enough that Pikachu’s damage is no longer a threat to the rest of your party.
Terastilize is possible once you have learned how to spam Tera Blast, which deals massive amounts of grass-type damage. If you feel low, you can use healing chants to heal it. Attack chants are available if your party needs more support.
