GoldenEye Surface 2 walkthrough, from communications link to the bunker

Surface can be returned to in GoldenEye 007 to search for any evidence of Janus’ presence. The snowy terrain can make it difficult to travel, but once you have broken the communications link, the bunker will allow you to enter.

Depending on the difficulty setting you’re playing on, you may have to disrupt all of the surveillance equipment and disable the Spetsnaz support aircraft. Tips before starting ‘Surface 2’ in GoldenEye 007

• As you move through each level, enemies will be everywhere. You should keep an eye out out for enemies silhouettes as you move through the level.
• To destroy surveillance cameras, use the silent pistol. The non-silenced weapon will attract more enemies to your buildings.
• Just keep running from objective to objective — don’t stop.

Surface 2 goals

Surface 2 allows you to accomplish up to four main objectives depending on your difficulty. These are the objectives:

• Obj. A: Disrupt all surveillance equipment (00 Agent difficulty)
• Obj. Obj.
• Obj. Obj.
• Obj. Obj.

The comms key can be collected

Grid View

1. You will triumph over all your enemies if you follow the central path.
2. Continue to the right until you find a pathway on your left.
3. To find a wooden building on your left, take the second right. Quickly shoot the surveillance camera in front. For a little more time you might be able to go around this building from the left, so that the alarm doesn’t sound.
4. Then, enter the building to eliminate the soldier. Make sure you have your key for the comms area, as an enemy may drop it. Before you leave, make sure to pick up your key.
5. Continue on the trail to the right, following the signs outside the building.
6. You will see a silhouette of a tower with a large telescope dish above it when you turn left up the snow embankment.
7. Follow the path to the structure and kill any enemy near the door.

Stop the communication link with the bunker

1. Go up the steps and enter the building.
2. Take a left turn at the top and take out the camera.
3. Keep going left and go up the steps. Then, open the door in front of you.
4. Shoot all three of the equipment on top of the table to break the communications link to the bunker — completing Goal B.

Reset the surveillance equipment

1. Take the exit from the building. Turn right towards the back.
2. Keep going straight, until you come to a fence area with two wooden buildings.
3. Take the camera to the wall and move towards the building’s back.
4. You can leave the area fenced and continue on to the next pair of buildings by following the path.
5. To complete the shot, take a picture of the wall at the right side of the building. Objective A. If you’re looking for the location of every surveillance camera, check out the surveillance locations section below.

The Spetznaz aircraft support plane must be disabled

1. Continue to your left and follow the snow toward the communications building.
2. Keep going past the communication building and continue to the entrance.
3. Turn right, and continue walking down the road until you arrive at an intersection.
4. Follow the left-hand path to the Spetznaz assistance aircraft.
5. Switch to the weapon inventory by opening the menu. Scroll down, and choose the remote mine.
6. Take aim for the helicopter and then press the fire button. The remote mine will be thrown onto the aircraft. Complete this step Ziel C.

Get into the bunker

1. Look around and you will see the bunker in front of you.
2. To complete the task, open the door and go inside. Obiective DSurface 2 and 3.

All surveillance equipment locations

The locations for surveillance equipment are listed in the sections above. However, we have provided the precise locations for the cameras in case any were not obvious:

1. Be sure to locate the camera located on the facade of the building prior to entering with your comms card key.
2. Follow the staircase to the corner from the communications building. You will see the camera on the wall immediately ahead.
3. Inside of the fenced area with a pair of buildings, you’ll find the third camera on the side of the building on the left.
4. Continue to the right after leaving the fence to locate a second pair of buildings. You will find the fourth, final surveillance camera on the right side of the building.

This completes the Surface portion of “Mission 5: Severnaya.”
