Forspoken Gets A Release Date And New Trailer Introducing Frey’s Adversary

Forspoken is an upcoming action game from Square Enix’s  Luminous Productions, and it has some top-tier talent behind it. Gary Whitta (among others), Amy Hennig and Allison Rymer are part of the game’s creative team. Todd Stashwick is also part of it. But we still haven’t seen much about the game, which centers on a young woman named Frey who gets transported from New York City to a fantastical world. A new trailer shown at The Game Awards tonight changed that, introducing us to one of Frey’s adversaries, played by Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead).

Frey asks for help and admits that she has no idea how this world got here. She’s clearly not having an easy time with the fire-breathing Dragons, and other threats to her life. And she’s pretty much getting blamed for everything, with people saying she trespassed on the land and set this battle into motion. She has some amazing magic, including what appears to be a hoverboard, which allows her to move around easily. The trailer below shows it in action.

Forspoken is available on PC and PS5 starting May 24. It will make use of the graphics capabilities offered by Sony’s latest system with procedural generation, ray tracing, and ray tracing.
