Destiny 2 season 17 dungeon timing detailed by Bungie
Destiny 2’s 17th season is still unnamed a week out from release. The Guardians of the game are yet to be revealed. Bungie did release some details about the new season, including what to expect in terms of holidays, vault space and the shiny new Dungeon.
The dungeon is going to be the pinnacle endgame content of season 17, so let’s start there first. Like the next season, we have no idea the dungeon’s theme or where in the world of Destiny it takes place. But we know when it comes out and what type of rewards we’ll see.
Unlike previous seasonal dungeons, the season 17 dungeon won’t launch on May 24 alongside the rest of the new content. Instead, it’ll appear in-game on Friday, May 27, at 1 p.m. ET. It’s also not free-to-play, so players will either need to own the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch QueenExpand your business or purchase a unique bundle at the real money store for only $20
It is quite full of reward options. Players can get their hands on four new weapons, two reprised weapons, one Exotic weapon (and its Catalyst), an Exotic accessory (a ship or a Sparrow, Bungie didn’t clarify which), two profile emblems, and a armor set. By running the Master difficulty version, players can earn Artifice versions (with additional mod slots) of this armor set.
For normal difficulty, players should have 1550 power to be able to participate in launch day. Bungie isn’t announcing the Master requirements prior to the release.
Bungie will make some significant changes to Solstice of Heroes, the summer event that Bungie calls Solstice. Players will have the ability to use their event cards to solve challenges, earn titles and seals for this event as well as future events. Players who wish to ReallyLove events? They can participate in challenges to win an overall title next year.
Bungie also revealed that there are 100 additional bank slots available and new Trials loot for season 17. This includes an armor set, sidearm and fusion rifle. Trials will not be available until the end of the season, and all its rewards are being withheld.
Bungie will likely reveal the new season’s theming and story shortly before it goes live on Tuesday morning.
