Death Stranding 2 Announced – Game Informer
Death Stranding 2 – the sequel to one of the best games of the previous console generation – was announced tonight during The Game Awards. The result was as bizarre and surprising as one would expect of Hideo Kujima.
Lea Seydoux plays Fragile in the trailer. There is no time to die, Crimes of the Future), running from some kind of threat while carrying a BB (a baby in an artificial womb; it’s a whole thing) in tow. We then get a brief look at Sam Porter Bridges – the protagonist of the first game, played by Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) – who Fragile tells, “It’s time for you to hit the road and start a new journey.” This is when everything goes off-the-rails.
Giant mecha cars (similar to the Metal Gears in Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid series). Primary antagonist Higgs dressed like President Amelie Strand and playing an electric guitar. The BB pod is full of tentacles. The ominous question, “Should we have connected,” casting doubts on the entire objective of the first game – connecting the United States – all quickly flashes onscreen. It sounds overwhelming, but it’s not. You can see it for yourself by clicking the link below.
Although we call it Death Stranding 2, it appears that the actual game name is DS2. Elle Fanning is also featured in the game, along with all of the movie stars mentioned above. The Neon Demon) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2).
Kojima spoke briefly after the trailer and revealed that he and Kojima Productions are working on another videogame project, as well other “visual” projects.
Sony did not release any details about the game, although it has been republished. In the trailer, it was also stated that the footage was taken on a PS5. It seems safe to conclude that Death Stranding 2 will be available on Sony’s platforms in a limited time, just like Death Stranding 1. Guerilla Games will act as a support station, while Decima will still be the engine used by Decima.
