Crunchyroll Absorbs Funimation’s Anime Library Moving Forward
Sony Pictures Entertainment has purchased Crunchyroll’s anime streaming service. This year Sony Pictures Entertainment will be shifting Funimation and all its content to Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll has a much larger library of anime titles and many English dubs. This is effective immediately. The Crunchyroll website has a complete list. Here are some shows that Crunchyroll users can now access:
- Attack on Titan: Junior High(Sub- and Dub).
- Black Clover ep. 1–170 (Dub)
- Cowboy Bebop (Sub- and Dub).
- Darling in Franxx (Dub)
- Dr. StoneSeasons 1 and 2 of Dub
- Fire ForceSeasons 1 and 2 of Dub
- Basket with fruitsSeasons 1-3 (Dub).
- Hunter x Hunter ep. 1–74 (Dub)
- My Hero Academia seasons 1–5 (Dub)
- Scarlet Nexus (Dub)
- Sk8 Infinity(Sub- and Dub).
- This Time, I was reincarnated as Slime seasons 1 and 2 and OADs (Dub)
- Tokyo Ghoul (Dub)
- Yu Yu Hakusho ep. 1-112 & OVAs (Sub & Dub)
- Yuri!!! Yuri! (Dub)
Starting with the upcoming spring season for anime, Crunchyroll will be the place to catch subs and dubs of any new anime for both Sony-owned streamers. Funimation users will only be able to watch new episodes of series already existing on the Funimation service, so now is definitely the time to migrate over to Crunchyroll. To encourage the switch and ease the transition, Funimation subscribers will be receiving an email with an offer for 60 days of a premium Crunchyroll subscription for free.
Crunchyroll recently became one of four streaming apps available on the Nintendo Switch, and with this consolidation, renders Funimation’s Switch app obsolete, bringing the count ostensibly back down to three.
