Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone season 2 begins Feb. 14

Season 2 Duty CallVanguard’s multiplayer, and Warzone: The Call of Duty Pacific, Activision has announced that the game will launch February 14. This weekend’s action will see players dealing with the Nazi secret weapon, and taking down large-sized armored vehicles for massive loot gains.

As shown in the graphic lore trailer, Nebula V is a new type of poison gas which can be used to augment small arms (both ammunition as throwables). Duty Call: Warzone Pacific. Nebula V bombs are useful in denial of area tactics. They explode for large damage with a persistent gas cloud that spreads over small areas. Nebula V is similar to regular ammunition, but it can only be used until an Operator has been killed. After that, they release a cloud of poisonous gases which harms any person who revives them.

The blog post announcing the new season says the damage is the same as standing outside the battle royale’s collapsing circle — so, slight damage, a blurred screen, and a rapidly declining gas mask lifespan if that’s equipped.

WarzoneAxis power is protecting Nebula V shipment with AI armored transportation trucks on Caldera. They’re tough to crack, but they give up a lot of good loot for those persistent (and skilled) enough. You can find them here. VanguardArms Race is a mod that features tanks, motorcycles, and squad transport cars. Later, mechanized armour will be available. When the patch notes will be published next week, Sledgehammer Games’s team will provide more information.

Vanguard Casablanca (urban warfare), and Gondola (a 3-lane map) are two of the new maps. They both have a lot more vertical features (and dangers). Three new operators from Task Force Yeti will be available to players (see trailer). Season 2 will begin with Anna Drake, an Alpine resistance fighter. She’ll be joined later by Thomas Bolt (heavy gunner) and Gustavo dos Santos (sniper).

Ranked Play beta Vanguard Season 2 also marks the beginning of multiplayer. Activision announced that Ranked Play will include Call of Duty League rules and visible skill ratings. There will also be commensurate rewards for the best play.

For more information, see Warzone Pacific, new game types in season 2 will include two limited-time modes with callbacks to games from last year’s Warzone. Caldera Clash is “an evolution of Clash on Verdansk ’84,” Activision said, and it pits up to 12 teams of four Operators each (so, 48 in all) in a Deathmatch, aided by three power-ups to help rally a team trailing at the end of a match.

Later on, season 2 will introduce Rebirth Iron Trials, a variation of Iron Trials ’84. “Featuring its own set of weaponry (from Black Ops Cold War: Call of Duty) And numerous rule changes to increase time-to-kill, this mode is built for the most hardcore members of our community,” Activision said. It’s a Duos mode involving 20 squads (so, 40 players total).
