Assassin’s Creed Mirage Reveal Trailer Released, Game Launching In 2023
Ubisoft finally confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed Mirage after a series of leaks. Ubisoft today revealed more information about Mirage, including its protagonist, setting and other details.
You’re likely to have a pretty good idea about Mirage’s role if you were paying close attention to leaks or rumors. This is doubly true after today’s presentation. Basim Ibn Itshaq (the master assassin of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla) is this year’s lead. Mirage is years ahead of Valhalla so he’s not as polished as you may remember. This game features a young thief and the diverse streets of Baghdad. Basim will find the Hidden Ones in an 861 period, when Baghdad was the center of art, science and commerce in the globe.
His mentor Roshan will take him under his wing, as voiced by Emmy winner Shohreh Aghdashloo. He’ll help him transform from street thief into apprentice to master assassin.
Ubisoft’s presentation revealed Mirage as a return back to the roots Assassin’s Creed. It was heavily inspired by the original game. Gone are the multicolored loot, giant sprawling maps, and dozens of questlines and side quests. Mirage is a linear action-adventure game set in the ultra-dense city of Baghdad, where the series’ three main pillars – stealth, parkour, and assassination – take the spotlight once more.
Mirage has all-new parkour animation to accompany the return of form. This includes the Pole Vault move as well as returning favourites like the corner swing. Basim can still climb basically everything as Bayek, Kassandra, and Eivor could, but his parkour will be the smoothest and most fluid in the series in years. He will be able to navigate the four districts of Baghdad, which include the Karkh industrial district and the Round City’s lush greenery.
As Basim progresses through the ranks of the Hidden Ones, he’ll unlock more skills to help him in his fight against the Order of the Ancients (and his nightmarish visions and mysterious background). Basim will also be able to upgrade his weaponry with smoke bombs and mines as well as throwing knives, throw darts, smoke bombs and noisemakers.
Assassin’s Creed Unity’s blackbox missions will be back, giving Mirage some more flexibility than in previous Assassin’s Creeds. Like the first Assassin’s Creed they will receive target assignments from the Hidden Ones at Alamut Castle in construction. This Persian fortress is making its in-game debut. Basim must use Enkidu (his Aquila Heliaca bird) as his eye in the heavens. However, he will need to be alert for special archers who can take Enkidu down from the roofs of Baghdad.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has not been released yet, however Ubisoft claims it will be out next year.
