Arcade1Up Announces Pro Series Cabinets With A Bigger Killer Instinct Machine

Arcade1Up, makers of affordable arcade cabinets built at a manageable size to put in your home, is broadening its product line to offer a larger, full-size machine for collectors who want a more true-to-arcade experience. 

Arcade1Up’s Pro Series Cabinets is the original. This cabinet features just a handful games that are centered on Rare’s legendary fighter Killer instinct. The Pro Series is not distinguished by its selection of games; the Pro Series cabinet’s construction makes it stand out from the rest.

Arcade1Up’s traditional home arcade machines stand somewhere between 47″ and 57″ tall, depending on whether you have it sitting on the height-boosting riser. Killer Instinct Pro series cabinet is 67.5 inches tall, or 5ft 6in. This makes it almost one foot taller that the standard cab without a riser. The monitor measures 19 inches, which is more than the standard Arcade1Up 17-inch screen. Other premium additions include a lit marquee, faux chrome trim, molded fake coin slots, an upgraded joystick, and “more generous spacing between components that improves precision​.” You can even get a Killer Instinct brand swivel stool with backrest to allow for more comfortable, seated playing. This is a great deal!

Of course, you can’t enjoy the big vertical gaming box itself without some games to play on it. The Killer Instinct Pro Series cabinet comes loaded with both arcade Killer Instinct titles and a selection of Rare’s classic Battletoads games. Some, possibly all, of the games sport online multiplayer, though it has not been specified which ones do.

Arcade1Up offers a cabinet that is closer in size to what you would find at an arcade. This will allow those who want more elbow space and a larger screen to play without having to hunch over. The Pro version of KI is what I am most excited about. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for NBA Jam and NFL Blitz. Arcade1Up doesn’t currently list prices, but I expect the new product range to be more expensive than their current $500 price.
