Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, released in 2006, seemed to end the story of Mortal Kombat. 2011’s installment picked up where it left off. This entry moved the story forward, reset the timeline and served as a soft-reboot that returned Mortal Kombat’s 2D fighting roots. MK 9’s cinematic narrative mode was an epiphany both for the Mortal Kombat series and for fighting games in general. It established the blueprint of the storytelling fighting campaigns that are still used today. MK9 is also the beginning of Mortal Kombat 1’s modern trilogy. This feature will give you a lot of information about MK9, its development and how it saved the franchise.

Editors Marcus Stewart and Kyle Hilliard will battle their way though MK 9 as they see how well its newly reimagined tourney holds up.
