Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2006) seemed to conclude the main storyline of the Mortal Kombat franchise. The 2011 entry continued the bloody tale. The saga was moved forward with a reset of the timeline. It served as a “soft reboot” that took Mortal Kombat to its 2D roots, and brought back the classic roster. MK 9’s cinematic mode led to a revolution in the genre and the world of fighting games. It was the first time that a narrative campaign had been used for battling. MK9 is also the beginning of Mortal Kombat 1’s modern trilogy. This feature will give you a lot of information about MK9, its development and how it saved the franchise.
