PlayStation Potentially Teases Unannounced Game That Might Be New Uncharted In Latest Ad

Sony’s new PlayStation advert, “Live From PS5”, showcases some of the most important titles on the console. It also features two clips that are unfamiliar to us. These clips remind us a lot Uncharted. 

This fictional news segment highlights the efforts of Spider-Man, Kratos, Ratchet and Clank, the Eikons of the upcoming game, Final Fantasy XVI, and more from other games like Gran Turismo 7 and Returnal. As first reported, two clips show what appears like a young lady in a cave with a torch. She approaches an old relic. Video Games Chronicle. 

You can see the clips in this Live From PS5 commercial below. 

They were there? The first clip shows an unknown person approaching an antique relic while she holds a torch and is seated on a pedestal. The character is carrying a backpack that has a rope hanging down. We see this character blowing dust and dirt off the ancient relic in the second blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot. While I wasn’t expecting a PS5-exclusive game, the two images together remind me of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series. 

Let me first mention that Neil Druckmann (Naughty Dog’s president) stated in an interview with Buzzfeed that he was done working on Uncharted and that he is moving on to other projects. Naughty Dog may have decided to move on from Uncharted. However, the PlayStation IP is not yet sold, meaning another studio could take over the franchise. It wouldn’t shock us, considering where Uncharted 4’s A Thief’s End ends by the end of credits. 

Spoilers for Uncharted 4, A Thief’s End

The epilogue of Uncharted 4 features Cassie Drake (daughter of Nathan and Elena). Her curiosity is sparked by Nathan and Elena telling her about their adventures and past relic-chasing. Fans speculate Cassie may follow her parents’ footsteps by becoming an explorer. However, this isn’t confirmed. If that were to be the case, then it might look very similar to these two photos in the new Live From PS5 commercial. Cassie Drake is the mysterious character seen in these shots. Perhaps it’s not. 

We don’t know the name of the game these shots represent, so it is possible that it could be a new Uncharted game or another game. However, PlayStation seems to be teasing an unknown game.
