The Last Of Us Game’s Tess Actor, Annie Wersching, Dies At 45

The actor for the video game version of Tess in The Last of Us, Annie Wersching, has died. At 45, she was a senior. 

Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2020 and she died following a two-year battle against it yesterday, January 29. Her husband Stephen, her children Ozzie, Freddie and Archie are her survivors. Wersching’s loved ones can raise money by setting up a GoFundMe. 

Wersching’s role in Naughty Dog’s hit 2013 videogame, The Last of Us is her most well-known, however, she also played important roles in 24 and Bosch, as reported by Variety. Many shared their love of Wersching yesterday following the news of her death, including The Last of Us co-creator director Neil Druckmann. 

“I will miss Tess my stupid friend. Annie, we are so sorry that you were gone too quickly. You will forever be part of the TLoU & Naughty Dog family.” 

Wersching was a St. Louis native. Variety According to reports, her first screen credit was in 2002’s episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Wersching was seen in such shows as FrasierSupernaturalAnd CharmedBefore that, she had recurring roles in General Hospital and 24. She played Tess in The Last of Us in 2013 was hopefully able to watch Anna Torv’s depiction of her character in HBO’s Last of Us These are the last two weeks.
