Octopath Traveler 2 announced, coming to Switch in February

Square Enix and Nintendo have made their announcements Octopath Traveler 2This is the sequel to the highly-acclaimed role-playing video game. It introduced us to retro HD-2D graphics and a rich, nostalgic visual style. Octopath Traveler 2 Nintendo Switch’s February 24, 2023 launch will see the arrival of this game on Nintendo Switch.

The trailer shows that the game follows the adventures of eight people from different walks of life. Each one has their own story to share. This time, the adventurers will journey through the land of Solistia in a “bustling era” that seems to have a few more modern or steampunk-style elements than the original game’s classic medievalism.

A mild modification to the original recipe. Octopath Traveler, the travelers’ Path Actions — unique character skills that can be used outside of battle to further the story — will differ between day and night.

These eight characters are new versions of the eight original character classes. They are: Hikari, the warrior; Agnes, the dancer with stars in her eyes; Partitio, the merchant (who sports a cool, slightly anachronistic trench coat); brooding, vengeful scholar Osvald; Throné, the thief; Temenos, the cleric; sprightly young hunter Ochette, seen pursuing some kind of giant dinosaur; and Castti, the apothecary.
