You Can Play A Demo Of Metroid Dread Right Now

Metroid Dread launched to largely positive reviews earlier this month. The conclusion of Samus’ decades-long battle against the Metroids maintains the classic side-scrolling exploration and the modern additions of developer MercurySteam, such as the melee counter. One frightening, new addition to this game is E.M.M.I.S, the nigh unstoppable robots Samus must constantly evade. It adds an additional terrifying twist to the overall formula. A demo of Metroid Dread can be downloaded now if you want to try the game out before spending your hard-earned money.

You can download the demo on the Switch eShop, or use the browser version to install it remotely. Nintendo doesn’t specify how much the trial will cost from the main game. However, it is likely that players can face each other with an E.M.M.I. You can also try Samus’ magnetic grapple and cloaking abilities.

Game Informer gave Metroid Dread a 9.0/10 rating. Ben Reeves, a reviewer, described Dread as “powerful,” writing that “despite a few hiccups, Metroid Dread should not be afraid.” It has been a long and exciting life, including Nintendo’s fix for a bug that was causing delays in progress and the controversial revelation that it runs better on PC emulators. Regardless, Metroid Dread has become one of the best-selling entries in the series (and the highest-selling entry in the UK).
