Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.231015-2000)
Hello Xbox Insiders. A new Xbox Update preview is coming soon to Alpha Skip-Ahead. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.
We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:
- OS Version Released: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25975.1005.231015-2000
- Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 18, 2023
- Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 19, 2023

Have some exciting news for you! Xbox Update Preview users using Alpha Skip-Ahead can look forward to new features.
Language & Location – Input
The option of selecting specific layouts on physical Japanese keyboards has been added again. Choose between, say, the Japanese keyboard layout 106/109 or the English keyboard layout 101/102.
Fixed
We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:
It is not a good system.
- Updates to reflect the local language across consoles.

Problems that are already known
Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.
Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:
- Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps. In the event that your equipment is not working properly, check to see if you have installed all of the most recent firmware updates. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Please Note:: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Include as much detail as you can:
- When was the problem first raised?
- Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
- If yes, does changing the audio format solve the problem? How did the previous and new formats compare?
- Rebooting the computer fixes this issue?
- What’s included in your setup? Equipment, layout, etc.
- Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.

Apps
- We’re investigating reports about some apps that suddenly close or don’t launch properly (error code 0x80070005).
Controls
- The Share Button is not working as it should. We’re investigating this.
Enjoy the Games
- There have been reports that some games do not allow you to manage your party properly. We are currently investigating.
Xbox Controller Keyboard Mapping
- The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or reboot your console.
Networking
- We’re investigating reports that the console might not be able to connect with their network at boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
Be sure to use Report a problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
