Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha (2311.231016-2200)

Hey Xbox Insiders. A new Xbox Update preview is coming soon to Alpha Ring. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:

• OS Release: XB_FLT_2311ZN25398.2812.231016-2200
• Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 18, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 19, 2023

The Newest Features and Experiences

Have you heard the news? Xbox Update Preview Alpha users should expect new features.

Language & Location – Input

You can now choose between the 106/109 Japanese layout or 101/102 English keyboard layout. Choose between, say, the Japanese keyboard layout 106/109 or the English keyboard layout 101/102.

The Fixes Have Been Implemented

We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:

Captures

• Fix an unanticipated error that indicated there was not enough room when saving clips on an external drive.

It is not a good system.

• Updates to reflect the local language across consoles.
  • Notes: Users participating in Preview may see “odd” text across the console, for more information go here.

Problems that are already known

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps. Verify that you are using the most recent firmware update for your TV or other equipment if you’re experiencing issues. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Notes: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Include as much detail as you can:
    • When was the problem first raised?
    • Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
    • If yes, does changing the audio format solve the problem? How did the previous and new formats compare?
    • Is rebooting the system a solution?
    • What is your set-up? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • You can also provide additional information to try and reproduce the error.

Apps

• Investigating reports that some apps close unexpectedly soon after launch or do not launch as expected.

Controls

• Investigating reports that the Share button isn’t working as intended.

Xbox Controllers: Keyboard button mapping

• The change in keyboard language will appear after you close the Xbox Accessories App or reboot your console.

Networking

• We’re investigating reports that the console might not be able to connect with their network at boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.

Use only the best quality Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
