Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.230927-2000)
Hello Xbox Insiders. A new Xbox Update preview is coming soon to Alpha Skip-Ahead. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.
We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. You can find the full details below.

Have some exciting news for you! Xbox Update Preview users using Alpha Skip-Ahead can expect a brand new feature.
Play from Profile
A random subset of users will notice with today’s update we’re making it easier to get, play, and see details about games others are playing directly from their profiles, as well as reorganizing the join and invite commands on these pages.
The Fixes Have Been Implemented
We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:
It is not a good system.
- The console has been updated to correctly reflect all local languages.
- Notes: Users participating in Preview may see “odd” text across the console, for more information go here.
There are known issues
It is our understanding that some of these issues were listed in the previous Xbox Insider release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.
Accessibility
- Magnifier is not always behaving as we would like it to when playing certain games.
Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:
- There have been reports that users are experiencing audio problems intermittently across all apps, dashboards and games.
- Notes: If you experience issues with audio, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”.
- Include as many details as you can:
- When was the problem first raised?
- Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
- Is it possible to fix the problem by changing the format of the audio? How did the previous and new formats compare?
- Rebooting the computer fixes this issue?
- What’s included in your setup? Equipment, layout, etc.
- Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.
Xbox Controller Keyboard Mapping
- After quitting or restarting the console, your changes will appear if you make changes to your keyboard settings in the Xbox Accessories application.
Manage Queue
- It is possible that titles recently installed may unexpectedly wrap into a second column. A fix has been developed.
Networking
- The console is not connecting to the network at boot as it should. We’re investigating this issue. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
- WorkaroundIf your console is still not connected, restart it from the Power Center by holding down the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart. If your console still hasn’t connected, restart your Xbox from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart.
Use only the best quality Report a problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
