Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha (2310.230927-2200)

Hello Xbox Insiders. There will be a brand new Xbox Update coming out in the Alpha Ring. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:

• Available: 2 p.m. PT – September 29, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – September 30, 2023

Have you heard the news? Xbox Update Preview Alpha users should expect new features.

Play from Profile

A random subset of users will notice with today’s update we’re making it easier to get, play, and see details about games others are playing directly from their profiles, as well as reorganizing the join and invite commands on these pages.

Fixed

The following fixes were implemented in this build, thanks to Xbox’s engineers.

Accessibility

• Magnifier was not acting as expected for some titles.

Manage Queue

• The issue with recent titles being wrapped to the 2nd row was fixed.

• The console has been updated to correctly reflect all local languages.

Problems that are already known

It is our understanding that some of these issues were listed in the previous Xbox Insider release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audio

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps.
  • Please Note:: If you experience issues with audio, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”.
  • Make sure you include as much detail as possible.
    • What was the initial cause of your problem?
    • Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
    • Is it possible to fix the problem by changing the format of the audio? What was the audio format prior to and after changing?
    • Is rebooting the device a solution?
    • What is your set-up? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.

Xbox Controller – Keyboard Mapping

• After quitting or restarting the console, your changes will appear if you make the keyboard language change while using the Xbox Accessories application.

Manage Queue

• When the queue is empty, the outline around “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” may appear to extend off-screen. The problem is currently being addressed.

Networking

• Reports indicate that consoles may not boot up to the network correctly. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
  • WorkaroundWait for a connection to be established. If your console still hasn’t connected, restart your Xbox from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart.

Be sure to use Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
