Xbox Celebrates the Next Generation of Women in Sports, Gaming, and More

We at Xbox are committed to supporting the next generation and helping them achieve their goals. Whether it’s stepping onto basketball’s highest stage, snagging the spotlight as the next big name in streaming, or captivating a continent with a summer of soccer, it’s fundamental to support amazing female achievements and help bring those dreams into reality.

This summer, Xbox is launching programs with the England Senior Women’s Football Team, the France Senior Women’s Football Team, the Atlanta Dream, the NY Liberty, and some amazing talent including Vanessa Bryant, to inspire the next generation of women gamers and athletes to dream big. This will be one of the first steps of Xbox’s commitment to amplifying representation of women in sports and gaming.

Power Her Dreams campaign

We’re proud to share our newly launched Power Her Dreams campaign and website. It is narrated and directed by Vanessa Bryant. The video shares the emotional journey of Zaila Avantgarde, Littlenavi and Karima Winter. Sabrina Ionescu and Sarah Bond have taken incredible steps towards achieving their dreams through struggle, strength, success and all that in-between.

Xbox invites gamers who enjoy basketball and gaming, to share their hopes via the Power Her Dreams website portal. They can also submit their dreams here And Choose one of the two charities that Xbox will donate to with a donation per-dream:

• Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation – The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports. Founded through the vision and loving memory of Kobe and Gianna “Gigi” Bryant.

• Girls Who Code – Girls Who Code is an international nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology, and leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip students who identify as girls or nonbinary with the computing skills needed to pursue 21st century opportunities.

Microsoft will donate $10 for every submission to the Power Her Dreams website between July 20th and September 30; maximum $50,000.

Partnering with the NY Liberty

Xbox is soon to unveil a unique, exclusive home basketball court that will be available for the NY Liberty. This court, which will be unique in its type, will be placed at Barclays Center. Keep checking Xbox Wire to get more details.

Atlanta Dream Teaming Up

Xbox and Atlanta Dream will collaborate to spotlight a selection of Dreams from Power Her Dreams during their game against NY Liberty on August 12. A handful of unique, exclusive Atlanta Dream Xbox Series S consoles from Xbox will be offered to a select few lucky people during the game against New York Liberty. Stay tuned for more information.

Xbox Partners with the England Senior Women’s and the France Senior Women’s Football Teams

Two programs were launched by Xbox on July 6 to help France and England as they begin their summer campaign for European Tournament glory.

The FC Mortons team were given a tour of the English FA’s prestigious St George’s Park training facility, had the chance to ask two of the England Lionesses a variety of questions about their careers and even were able to spend some time fine-tuning their shooting skills with a dedicated training session coached by both players. The tables were turned when the young soccer coaches had the opportunity to mentor Ellen White and Lucy Staniforth in a mini-game called Parkour.

To wrap the day, as the ‘Cubs’ lined up alongside the two Lionesses for a final photo, the team and coaches were given one final surprise as it was revealed that they were going to be the beneficiaries of a dedicated Xbox sponsorship package to power their dreams in the season ahead.

For the France Football Federation, Xbox worked on a series of interviews in which five members of the France Women’s soccer team talked about their dreams of reaching the top of women’s football in France. Kadidiatou Diatou, Sakina Karchaoui and Griedge Mabock as well as Delphine Cascarino and Clara Mateo sat down with Xbox to discuss their motivations for pursuing their goals. Their childhood aspirations, through their current goals, are fueled by their thirst for success. Through years of perseverance, hard work, and sheer determination, they have become an inspiration to many young girls.

This is only the start of Xbox’s commitment to powering the dreams of young women in sports, gaming, and more.
