Why the Batgirl movie will never be released, even though it’s done
Gotham City is experiencing some strange things. BatgirlThe director of the upcoming DC Comics movie, Bad Boys Are Not for LifeBilall Fallah will be releasing the show in its entirety, and Adil El Arbi is no more coming to HBO Max.
The Wrap reports that the following: BatgirlThe film was successfully completed. In March, filming finished and the project was in testing screenings. This, the reports indicate, is where the film was doomed, testing poorly during a time where new Warner Bros. leadership is looking to rebuild DC’s theatrical brand.
It’s not particularly common for a completed franchise film to be completely shelved like this, and it’s especially odd now with streaming platforms hungry for content. However, new Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav has major plans to overhaul the entire company’s film output, and regime changes often mean many once-sure bets get discarded in sometimes surprising ways.
BatgirlIt has a lengthy and torturous development history. In 2017, the movie was announced for its first time. AvengersJosswhedon was attached as director before she left in 2018. It was a film with a great cast. In the HeightsLeslie Grace was the breakout star. Brendan Fraser played the role of Firefly and Michael Keaton returned in some capacity as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
