The Darkest TalesThe story tells the tale of Teddy, a Teddy bear who lives in nightmare-filled fairytale land. To save his owner, Alicia, our brave hero travels across dangerous lands. He’s going to meet many of the characters you’ve known and loved since childhood — but they may not be how you remember them. But first, a bit of history…
Marco Agricola invented the idea for The Darkest TalesIt was established over ten year ago. The idea of a toy that can be a symbol for safety and courage in a child’s life started as a simple concept. This idea eventually evolved into the character of a cute teddy bear who, despite his small stature and innocent looks, would learn to fight the monsters that dwell under children’s beds.
Then he thought about presenting children’s fairy tales in a new light, to retell the familiar stories we remember from our early years in a more grim setting.
The Landscape of The Darkest TalesIt is diverse and rich in content: You can explore a fog forest and climb up a magical bean stalk to reach the top. Then, you will dive into the ocean to be in the stomach of a man-eating Whale. The development team worked hard on each level to make sure you’re completely absorbed into the dark fairy-tale atmosphere.
You’ll meet a lot of old friends on your journey, but be warned: you probably won’t recognize them. Many of the same characters are in your dreams and stories, but they have jumped into your nightmares.
Far from a sweet girl visiting her grandmother, Little Red Riding Hood has taken to hunting wolves, and wouldn’t mind taking on a bear, either. Pinocchio, Jack of the Beanstalk, the Little Mermaid, and many more — all turned into bloodthirsty monsters who want to sink their teeth into Teddy’s stuffing!
Teddy, however, is not timid. While he might appear to be a gentle, innocent puppy, Teddy is determined and unbreakable. He won’t let any harm come to his friends, and he can handle all the nightmares of this world.
Teddy can use a number of tools to battle the monsters. He has two pairs of scissorblades, and a bow that uses arrows made out needles and thread. Our hero will discover more weapons throughout the game and learn new skills that make him stronger, quicker, and tougher.

The Darkest Tales is an engaging adventure full of fairytale characters. Over the course of the journey, you’ll have to come face-to-face with the difficult questions of life more than once.
Happily Never Ever After
You’ll meet familiar characters from your childhood, but the reunion isn’t likely to be a happy one. Gingerbread men want blood. Sleeping Beauty appears to have a few centuries of sleep behind her. The Little Mermaid seems more like an innocent sea witch than a child of the ocean.
Teddy Scissorpaws
Our hero turns out to be a master of all trades. A pair of scissors was all that was needed to create a bow, melee weapon and grappling hook. All’s fair in a fight against the forces of evil.
There is only darkness ahead
Every level is set in an untouched fairytale world, rife of secrets, combat and obstacles. On this journey you will gain experience, master and branch out your skills, and overcome a multitude of challenges — from fighting blood-thirsty rubber duckies to exploring the giants’ castle in the clouds.
The Darkest Tales has deep, mysterious legends. As you progress and defeat monsters, you’ll unveil the mysteries of this nightmarish world. Is this the ending of this fairy tale? It’s up to you to decide.
