Weekend Warrior: Pet Edition – Say Hello To Our Furry Family

As in the past few weeks, there were many great games released this week. Today specifically marks the releases of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, all of which we have reviewed (click the respective game title to read our write-ups for each). Weekend Warrior’s latest edition has a fur-full twist despite the abundance of adventures available.

You will see a variety of what the GI team is doing over weekends. But, more important, you’ll find an introduction into the animals we live with. It’s raining cats and dogs on this week’s Weekend Warrior, and we’d like you to follow suit by introducing your companions in the comments.

You can meet Game Informer’s pets without further delay:

Andrew Reiner – Snow White

Margaret Andrews – Behold Prince Indigo, Fiercest Guardian of Treats and Mousies.

I spent the week playing Tunic and plan to pick away at it this weekend, but now that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is out, most of my time will be spent there. Last night I probably spent 30 minutes in the character creator and had a blast in the intro area, so I’m looking forward to opening up the game and having a big adventure. I’ll also be finishing the book “Gallant” by VE Schwab and starting a book I’ve long been looking forward to, “Empire of the Vampire,” by Jay Kristoff.

Kristin Williams – Pantalaimon.

You cannot touch his stomach, even though he is showing it to you. One of his favorite pastimes is to stand in front the TV and complain loudly about not being fed. He also loves cuddling me when I am getting up from the couch.

Laleh Tobin –

Spike: Named after Javy Gwaltney, an ex-editor and his favourite space cowboy, this absolute hero is now known as the “Spike”. Longbois 4ever <3!
Moira: She’s had it with Spike’s antics and longing to return to Megaton.

Alex Van Aken –

Hazel, my seven-year-old cat, is my most precious pet. She loves ham and is seven years of age. I would die for her. We put her on a more strict diet to lose 2 pounds. She is currently upset.

Jill Grodt –

Rufus. He was adopted from a shelter in 2007 by staff who assured him that he was a cat. He may just be a fuzzy pig considering the amount he attempts to eat. Rufus is almost as frequent on Game Informer Show as I am. See if Rufus can be spotted next time you go to the Game Informer Show.

Kimberly Wallace –

Pancake. He’s going to visit his friends, Corvo and Totoro, this weekend. Elise Favis, former Game Informer editor, has these cats. Pancake loves to play with his toys, take a bath, and eat plastic. He loves to snuggle and rest in his ramen bed.

John Carson –

These two cuties are Zorro, our round boy that’s spotted like a cow, and our little wierdo black cat Sheik. Zorro likes to sleep and eat feathers from toys. Sheik enjoys sprinting late into the night and climbing up high to see more of the apartment. Zorro recently had to undergo some medical procedures (he’s doing fine!), which has left his tummy shaved and infinitely more pat-able than ever before.

I’ll be playing more of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands into the weekend, which I started late last night, and chipping away at Elden Ring here and there. I read the newest chapter of One Piece yesterday that includes a massive reveal that changes the context of so much of the series, so I’m starting the anime over, watching from the East Blue arc, and seeing if Eichiro Oda planned for this revelation the entire time.

Blake Hester –

Regan

Wesley LeBlanc

Sparrow is a red Australian Shepherd that turned four this February, and for all four years of her life so far, she’s been one of my best friends. Wherever I go, she goes (unless there’s food somewhere along the way to distract her). She is a very vocal dog and will say hello to anyone who asks. If you pet her, prepare to scratch her pink belly in a few seconds because she can’t resist flipping over to let you know your head pat was nice but that she wants the belly rubbed. Her favorite treats include – if you’re my wife, stop reading now – popcorn, Cheetos Puffs, and other similar snacks. My wife also enjoys the taste of an ice cube. I don’t know how to not give her one when making a glass of water. Elden Ring is the game she loves to see me play. While playing, I call her “Sausage Girl” because she positions herself between me and the crack in the couch, like a hot dog in a bun. This is adorable.

Brian Shea – This weekend, I finally have time to devote to gaming. It’s not a great day here in Minneapolis. Most of my chores after vacation are done. There are no plans. Naturally, I’m going to be diving back into Elden Ring after finally succumbing to the FOMO last weekend, but I’d also really like to check out Kirby and the Forgotten Land. They are two very similar games.

Monica Rexach Ortiz –

My favorite niece Lyra!

Now that you’ve adored all of our pets and read our stunning weekend plans, it’s time for you to share the games, movies, shows, comics, and more that you’ll be spending time with. We would love to hear about your pets!
