Watch the first tiny peek at the Halo show in action
The Game Awards: They’re not just for games anymore! Now they are also a great place to get sneak peeks of TV shows about games — like, for example, the upcoming Paramount Plus series Halo.
In a teaser for Thursday’s awards show, the HaloSeries Twitter account posted a clip taken from the trailer for the show’s premiere. It’s a brief montage of space marine hardware that still leaves plenty to the imagination: No aliens or Halos yet, but give it time.
This display of faithfulness is still quite amazing. Generally, in film or TV adaptations of an existing genre work, there’s Some kind of major aesthetic change — maybe the production design is guided by different priorities, or the costumes look different in a noticeable way. These are the possibilities. HaloThe show however looks just like Halo. Pelicans and Warthogs are seen, as is what looks like an Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs) squad. This scene could just be lifted from a cutscene in a game.
While the full reveal of Master Chief’s armor will likely be Possibly slightly different from what game fans are familiar with, what we’ve seen so far is a pretty spot-on recreation. Promos even use the Halo Theme. They are not selling a brand new song to us. Can’t wait to hear those chunky electric guitars.
Los Angeles will broadcast the Game Awards live on Thursday, December 9th at 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST. HaloParamount Plus’ first season of nine episodes will be broadcast on Paramount Plus beginning in 2022.
