Warhammer 40K’s Eldar to get new models in 2022, no new codex mentioned
Games Workshop’s 9th edition Warhammer 40K launched in a blaze of glory. It was preceded by several high-profile army launches. Now it’s returning to the Aeldari (also known as the Eldar), a foundational faction that hasn’t seen much attention in over a decade.
Eldar is a ancient, lithe race. They are known for their ability to navigate the universe through webway portals. Their main frontline fighters are called Guardians, and they’re roughly equivalent to general-purpose Imperial Guardsman or Primaris Space Marines in their battlefield role.
On Monday, the new plastic Guardians set was announced. It feels more like an improvement than a complete overhaul of legacy models. The silhouette feels complementary to older sets, meaning that collectors won’t have all that much trouble integrating them into their existing armies.
Meanwhile, the poses themselves are much more dynamic — although not nearly as acrobatic as the figures included in last year’s Drukhari release.

This isn’t the only new Eldar model announced over the holiday. Games Workshop presented a number of new Asuryani Eldar on Christmas. They will be packaged together with Chaos Space Marines. Warhammer 40,000: Eldritch OmensBoxed set
Games Workshop has not released pricing information or pre-order information, however, there is a lot of Eldar news. The Warhammer Community website states that fans can look forward to weekly updates from the Path of the Preview series in the near future. Here’s hoping that a new codex, complete with revised point values and unit attributes for 9th edition, is also on the horizon.
