WALL-E will be the first Disney film in the Criterion Collection
The home-video company Criterion announced Thursday that Pixar Animation Studios’ feature WALL-EAs the Criterion’s first Pixar or Disney movie to be released in Criterion, it will also join the Criterion collection. With preorders open for October 18, the Criterion edition is set to be available on Nov. 22.
Criterion has nearly no animated movies on its list, as it is a curation firm that preserves, restores and publishes films of special cultural importance and impact from around the globe. In addition to being the company’s first Disney or Pixar film, WALL-E is the only CG animated film currently in the company’s library.

Criterion plans to release the film with additional features, such as commentary tracks and essays. Behind-the scenes documentaries will also be available. Criterion provides a full list of featured features.
