Volition To Become Part Of Gearbox After Saints Row Failed To Meet Expectations
Saints Row, the reboot of the series was launched back in August. While some were pleased with the outcome, others were less so. Because Saints Row did not meet all expectations, Volition has been rebranded to Gearbox Entertainment.
The following news is from Video Games ChronicleAccording to, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors talked about the transition in a statement that was released with company’s earnings for its second quarter.
“The reception of Saints Row did not meet the full expectations and left the fanbase partially polarized,” Wingefores said in the statement. Volition has worked hard to enhance the user experience. Saints Row’s quarter-end financial performance was in line with expectations. Volition is moving to Gearbox as it has the right tools and an experienced US team of management to make Volition a success.
Wingefors noted that it is the first “internal transfer” where a major studio is transferred between the operative groups, but said that “it’s not the last.”
