Valkyrie Elysium Is A New Chapter In The Valkyrie Profile Series

Sony’s State of Play concluded today with the reveal of Valkyrie Elysium, an upcoming action RPG that serves as a new installment in the beloved Valkryie Profile series. 

Trailer shows a Valkyrie summoning lightning and slaying monsters with flashy sword strikes and magic-based offense. To prevent Ragnarok’s end, she does this at the command of the All-Father. 

You can now reimagine combat using gameplay elements such as combos and special attacks from Valkyrie Profile Games. We will not know if your party includes characters that are assigned face buttons, or whether you play only as this Valkyrie. Motoi Sakuraba, a longtime series composer, will be scoring Elysium. 

Elysium is a third-person adventure that combines RPG mechanics with Norse mythology, much like the previous Valkyrie games. It marks the first real entry in the Valkyrie series in some time; what most fans would consider the last true installment was 2009’s Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for the Nintendo DS (though there was a mobile entry, Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin, in 2016). Replay is a great way to see this classic video game in action. 

Valkryie Elysium is coming soon for PlayStation 5 PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
