Update: This War Of Mine Developer, 11 Bit Studios, Donates Nearly $700,000 To Ukraine

11 Bit Studios is a Polish-based company that developed This War of Mine, Frostpunk and Frostpunk. It has disclosed that 3 million Polish PLN has been donated to Ukrainian aid efforts in the face of Russia’s continued invasion. 

According to, the studio revealed this information in a recent Facebook post. Eurogamer. The post also showcases the studio’s ongoing support for Ukraine. 

11 Bit Studios last week announced that all profits from The War of Mine would be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. Bungie, GSC Game World and many other developers have supported Ukraine over the years.

Russia has openly attacked and invaded Ukraine after weeks of mounting tensions between the two countries, with dozens of Ukrainian citizens reportedly killed by bombings. This historic and, frankly, frightening event is being watched by the entire world. Efforts have started to assist civilians trapped in the middle of the conflict. 11Bit Studios was behind the popular 2014 anti-war survival title, This War of Mine. 

11Bit, a Polish studio, has announced it is heavily discounting This War of Mine, its expansion and console port The Little Ones, and its DLC across all platforms for the next week. The game is currently 75-8o% off, dropping it down to $4.99 on Steam and $3.99 on consoles. The Ukrainian Red Cross will receive 100 percent of all the proceeds from this sale. In This War of Mine, players oversee and care for a group of civilian survivors of a devastating conflict in a commentary of the horrors of war. Below is the full statement of 11Bit. 

Today, Russian military forces invaded Ukraine, a country that is free and open to all. Polish gaming studio, creators of The War of Mine (an anti-war video game) that directly addresses the misery and suffering of civilians affected by war, would like to announce the following company statement: We oppose the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Without action, mere words will not be meaningful. Timing is also crucial. So, for seven days, All profits from This War of Mine (all its DLCs) on any platform and store, as well as all other platforms, will go towards a special fund. In a week, the money will be given to Ukraine’s Red Cross for direct support of victims of war. 

This message can be shared with everyone you know about the war in Ukraine and the devastating effects it has on people’s lives. Developers and players, let us all do our best to aid the Ukrainian victims.

11 Bit isn’t the only European Studio to denounce the attacks. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GSC Game World 2 is an independent developer based out of Ukraine. posted its own callFor support, say in part:

Today, Ukraine is officially under the control of Russia’s Federation. Our country was awakened by the sounds of weapon fire and explosions. However, it is prepared to defend its independence and freedom. The Russian Federation remains ready and able to do anything. Although the future may not be as bright, we are optimistic and confident in our military forces, our faith in Ukraine, and hope that it will.
