Trace Memory And Its Wii Sequel That Never Hit The States Come To Switch In Another Code: Recollection

Trace Memory, as the game is known in North America on Nintendo DS, was released in 2005. Its sequel, Another Code: R – Journey Into Lost Memories, launched on the Wii in 2009, but it never came to North America. Another Code: Recollection, which will hit Switch in January 2019, allows players to experience both titles.

The Switch version of Another Code Recollection will launch on January 19th, 2024. It is an improved collection that includes Trace Memory as well as Another Code R. During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed this collection of games with a new trailer showing enhanced visuals while pulling back the curtains on protagonist Ashley, who is traveling to the remote Blood Edward Island in search of her father.

You can see the reveal trailer below.

Ashley’s father is believed to have died, but after she receives his letter, the chain of events that follows sends her back to Blood Edward Island. Ashley is forced to solve puzzles and investigate the surroundings in order to uncover the truth. Ashley’s journey is complete with another code: R. Two years after Trace Memory, Ashley returns to Lake Juliet in order to find out the secret truth behind her mother.

“This collection includes fully enhanced versions of both original games, featuring overhauled visuals, fully explorable environments, new voice acting, puzzles, music, and more,” Nintendo’s description of the game reads. The game now includes optional navigation and hint systems to assist players who are new to adventure gaming.

Switch’s Recollection, which will be $59.99 on the 19th of January 2024.
