TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection Patch Adds Online Co-Op To Turtles In Time
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Cowabunga Collection got its first major update. This includes many fan-requested functions. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time For Super Nintendo now allows online multiplayer.
It also adds tips for some strategy guides and customizable button mapping to online mode. There are more filters available on the screen for Game Boy titles. Developer Digial Eclipse claims that TMNT III (NES) will receive online play as a future update. The full patch notes are available below.
New additions
- The box art has been replaced by the icon for Home Menu. (Switch)
- The PS4 arcade controller now supports. PS4 joystick support is now available (PS5)
- Xbox arcade stick support is now available. Xbox joystick support (XB1/XSX).
- Online lobby creation allows the user to choose the size of their lobby. You can set the limit for your host to only 2, 3 or 4 users.
- When creating an online lobby, the player can now set the frame delay to “Automatic”. Once this setting is made, the input lat adjusts based on the player count.
- SNES and Super FamicomTMNT now have Tournament Fighters as an enhancement. Story Mode can now enable Ultimate-Attacks.
- Super Famicom TMNT now has Tournament Fighters. “Group Mode” can now be enabled ON/OFF. This feature is only available for the Japanese version.
- Arcade US/JP Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a new feature. You can adjust the number of lives for each coin from 1 to 5.
- Arcade US Turtles in Time has a new enhancement. The number of lives each coin can be changed from 1-8.
- Arcade US/JP Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a new feature. The difficulty can be adjusted.
- Arcade US Turtles in Time has a new enhancement. The difficulty can be altered.
- Arcade US Turtles in Time now has an additional enhancement. Game Loop is now possible to turn ON/OFF. If you turn the ON/OFF switch, the game will start from the beginning immediately after the credits.
- New button action added to “Arcade US/JP TMNT”, “Arcade US Turtles in Time”, “SNES/Super Famicom Turtles in Time”, and “Genesis/MegaDrive Hyperstone Heist”. Players can now assign a button to “Special”. This button presses “Attack” and “Jump” together to make it easier to do special attacks.
- All Game Boy games now have a new color enhancement. GBC Mode ON/OFF has been added. A new “Color Palette” option added to the Pause Menu for all Game Boy games. Other filters aside, the player can select from 4 colour palettes: 1. black, white, and 2. Game Boy green, 3. Game Boy Pocket green, 4. Game Boy Light Blue
- Adjusted audio for different games and Main Menu
- Strategy Guide has added pages about NES Tournament Fighters, and GEN Tournament Fighters.
- Strategy Guide now includes additional pages for GEN Tournament Fighters, and GEN Hyperstone Heist.
- Per game, visual settings can be saved
Problems fixed
- German translation has been made for the phrase “Punch repeatedly” on Strategy Guide Page 11.
- Now, in the music player the appropriate icon of the cassette tape for the arcade TMNT is displayed.
- Page 5 (SNES Turtles in Time Strategy Guide) has been updated with a Turtle Tip 3 screenshot.
- SNES Turtles of Time Stage Select enhancements work even after options settings are modified.
- Stage Select enhancements in Hyperstone Hist are now available for 2 players.
- An easy menu navigation enhancement for TMNT3 Manhattan Project (NES), TMNT2 The Manhattan Project, (Famicom), now works.
- Additional Credits are now available for SNES Tournament Fighters.
- The museum’s SNES Turtles in Time manual now has page 18-19.
