Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands to support cross-play on PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired fantasy spinoff of Gearbox’s Borderlands franchise, will feature full cross-play on all platforms when the game launches on March 25. Gearbox president Randy Pitchford made clear that cross-platform play is possible on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in a Twitter announcement.
The announcement is notable because Gearbox’s most recent game in the franchise, Borderlands 3, added cross-play nearly two years after the game launched — but cross-play was not supported on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Borderlands 32K Games asked Gearbox for cross-play support to be removed from the PlayStation 3 game to get certification to issue the patch. Pitchford announced in 2021.
Sony was aware of any issues at that time. Borderlands 3Cross-play appears to have been solved Wonderlands.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with full cross play for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. The engineers from Gearbox Software have done amazing work. Many thanks to the partners at 2k Games as well as 1st parties including Sony for helping with this. pic.twitter.com/J1SV7HgnhW
