It’s a bright, fun, new interpretation of the original that brings the gameplay and life choices up-to-date for a younger, modern audience. So, whether you’re a veteran of the crossroads, or brand new to the game, there’s plenty to discover and enjoy!

The goal of the board game is to get the money. However, in our modern world the drive to “get rich” is often balanced by the need for a healthy lifestyle. This is how it works: The Game of Life 2You can earn points to gain wealth, happiness and knowledge.

These choices could reflect the modern world or players making fun decisions in-game. You get to choose your own journey.

The Chapel is the first mandatory stop space. This is where you can get married. There’s no choice, it’s marriage or game over. In other words, be in The Game of Life 2This was made optional by us. We are happy with the results:

• 61% get married

Another important action is to have children in the original game. If you are able to land on a space for babies, then you can add children to your vehicle. We decided to interrupt this pattern by making “having babies” a clear choice, with the option to adopt pets instead! This is the result so far

• 57% chose to have babies

The top options for new job opportunities are:

Of course, we’ve kept some of the traditional choices, and going to College is still coming out as the most popular option vs. going straight into a career. Astronomers, Robotics Engineers and others are making plans!

Another new addition that has really shaken up gameplay is an extra “second chance” crossroad later in the game. The option to delay marriage, college and investing in homes is available if desired. If you don’t go to College at the beginning, you can go later, or go back and get a Masters! This has had a profound impact on the players’ approach to the game. These changes have made the game more relevant to modern times. Instead of being confined to a set of expectations and one goal, players now feel free to choose from multiple ways to win.
