The Xbox 360 Store Is Shutting Down

Like many people that near their eighteenth birthday, the Xbox 360 will soon lose support from its parent company. Xbox Wire announced today that the Xbox 360 Store will close on July 29th, 2024. This means you will no longer be able to purchase games or DLC on the console, and the Microsoft Movies & TV app will stop working altogether.

It is stated in the article that any content you purchased before the deadline will be still playable. So digital games for the Xbox 360 should continue to work and be accessible. You can also redownload the game. Online multiplayer will still work, but it’s more game by game. Many Halo servers have already shut down. And while the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer work on the 360, your content there transfers to anywhere else you have the app.

Also, Xbox One Series X/S and Xbox One will continue to offer backwards-compatible 360 games for purchase and playing. This list does not include every 360 game, but it covers the most popular ones. In today’s post, Xbox provided a link to its complete list of backwards-compatible games. This is the latest batch of games from November 20, 21:
