Hi, I’m Lorenzo, I’m the creator of Milky Way PrinceThe game is more like a journal than a simple game. As I had to deal with a challenging period in my own life, this was an exorcizing and cathartic experience.

I chose to do it through a video game because I think it’s the perfect tool to do it, as it allowed me to write what had happened to me, and analyze it from different points of view. My experiences were reconstructed using exact logic. I also explored what would have happened if my choices had been different.

The times we live in are helping us to understand how critical it is for people to have the right sensibility when dealing with sensitive topics. Since I was dealing with an extremely complex subject such as mental illness, borderline personality disorder and other issues, the metaphorical veil I needed was a star or astronomy. Stars and Astronomy were my choices because being in a BPD relationship felt almost like I was in love. Our system became unstable and more unpredictable as the couple grew in love and their connection intensified.

Symbiotic binary vampire stars or Vampires seemed the ideal metaphor for mutual, obsessive, and codependent relationships. They also represent parasitic abusive, and submissive dynamics. Relationships are obviously a two-way bridge, where it’s all about exchanging, they are not exempt from mechanics of power and control. But what happens if you are too harsh? Or too submissive? Could I break this toxic cycle? Are relationships a way to compensate for each other’s weaknesses, with the risk of giving up too much, or too little, of oneself? These are key questions.

It’s wonderful to finally have a version running at full resolution, showing the drawings in their native resolution at full framerate, and playable on the TV with a controller! Milky Way PrinceIt is now available for Xbox on Xbox. I am hoping it will be meaningful to Xbox players.
