Any players unfamiliar withQuarryThe premise of our game is quite simple. You play as a group of nine teenage camp counselors who find themselves stranded for one more night at Hackett’s Quarry summer camp, and decide to throw a party to celebrate their final night together. The rustic camp is located in upstate New York’s woods. Happens to be devoid of many of today’s modern comforts — like cell service. There are many things that could go wrong. The party soon takes a bad turn as counselors find themselves in a night of terror and are attacked by both bloody locals and something more sinister. Throughout the course of the game, you’ll be forced to make unimaginable choices and decisions that are often a matter of life or death. You can also download the game here. To truly bring the experience to life, we brought on a cast of Hollywood talent and horror legends to bring their expertise to these characters, including David Arquette (“Scream” franchise,) Ariel Winter (“Modern Family”), Justice Smith (“Jurassic World”), Brenda Song (“Dollface”), and more. We are often asked why we don’t just make a horror movie. Interactive narrative games are so well-suited for horror.
For me, I believe that the core appeal of horror comes down to a question we ask ourselves all the time: “What would you do?” Horror challenges us to think about this question under extreme circumstances and allows us to see the consequences of our choices.
Movies and TV shows are linear — all we can do is observe, and the outcome is always the same no matter how many times you watch your favorite horror flick. What’s so special about games is that it is the only entertainment medium where you are truly able to answer the question of “what would you do?” yourself.
QuarryYou will face many choices that can shape the story of your camp counselors and who gets to live it. Some choices can only affect how you relate to your camp counselors. Others could dramatically change the way your story unfolds.
