The No Man’s Sky Sentinel update finally gives you a sweet mech boy
This is the end of its life span. No Man’s Sky isn’t so much a video game as it is a never-ending episode of Pimp My RideHello Games, the developers of this game have been putting portable gaming consoles and beer refrigerators in places no one thought possible. Across a series of regular updates, the game gets a little stranger — or in the case of the just-released Sentinel update, more perilous.
However No Man’s Sky has always been a game about exploration, it doesn’t mean that exploring was never dangerous. From the very beginning, hostile robots known as Sentinels have patrolled the planets players explore, and the Sentinel update is giving them an overhaul with new drone classes, “including heavies, summoners and repair units,” the studio said. Players will also be able to purchase and program their own drones. The update includes an AI core which can help them create exo-mechs.
These robot upgrades are one of many parts of a large, combat-focused upgrade that is intended to satisfy those who desire more violence in space exploration. Along with new weapon and ability options, including active camo, a strong neutron cannon and other graphics enhancements to weapons effects, there are also new weapons.
The best part is that it all comes with brand new story content. This will allow players to delve deeper into the history and origins of the Sentinels, giving them more guidance.
It’s frankly an absurd amount of stuff to kick off another year of updates to No Man’s Sky. A more complete list of new content can be found on the game’s site.
