The Backyard is Home to Over 15 Million Players

It GroundedObsidian Entertainment and team are thrilled to share that the backyard has been accessed by over 15,000,000 players. The time GroundedJust a few months after the full release, players flooded the backyard to experience micro-life. Whether you’ve been with us from the very beginning, or have only recently taken on your first mite, we want to thank you for being a part of this impressive community.

Its early access launch has been a success GroundedThe game was built and maintained by the community. This has been the case for the entire release. A special update has been prepared by the team in response to feedback from both old friends and newcomers. Holiday Treat includes a variety of new features to improve the quality of life, as well as exciting gameplay content and features that will help you explore your backyard.

The ability for ZIP.R lines up is one of the many new gameplay options that will delight many people. The ability for players to climb on ziplines throughout the yard will mean they can no longer descend. Instead, they will be able ascend to get even faster to the areas they wish to explore. The base can also be protected from any invading creatures by a trap. When it comes to the base, there are also a host of new base decoration and vanity items coming in this update like new chairs, dressers, half stairs, and even a holiday “tree” that can be displayed during the month of December.

The community requested quality-of life updates. These changes are what really make the difference. One of the most important is an extra row in your player inventory. It will be useful for players who want to have multiple types of armor and weapon sets, depending on what the situation is. They can also harvest everything and gather it all. There are multiple hotpouches available that players can cycle through to gain access to more items without opening the menu.

For those who don’t want to deal with waking up in the middle of the night, we have changed the way sleeping works so that you will be able to wake up after the sun rises. Spice-lovers can now pre-cook their food as animals will drop cooked meat rather than raw. Toasty! You can also toggle your nameplates off for others, so hide and seek games can begin. But that’s not all! Everyone can now name trailer markers, build from nearby chests and pallets, and labs have received a new “Water Cooler” building so thirst can be quenched on those long lab excursions.

You can find creatures in the yard in many different environments such as the water depths, caverns, termite dens, or even in the hot sandbox. The MIX.R device can be used to attract the creatures to other areas in your yard. The danger is that they will come knocking at your home if there are too many of you interfering with them.

Be true to yourself!
You can activate bonuses and perks by using the in-game customization tools such as Mutations or Milk Molars. You can also craft or upgrade weapons and armor to equip your character with the necessary stats to face the dangers of the backyard.
