Tailor Your Approach to Combat with Atlas Fallen’s Versatile Essence Stones

Atlas is an sand-covered land filled with danger and mysterious creatures. Thankfully you’ll be armed with a mystical Gauntlet filled with magical abilities that provide you the power to shape the sand, form weapons out of it, and ride dunes at amazing speed to help you survive in this hostile environment. Our unique Essence Stone System is at the heart of everything. Atlas Fallen.

Essence Stones turn the combat arena into an expansive playground, allowing you to experiment, feel empowered, and create your unique character. These Stones can be used to modify Damage, Magic, Survivability and Healing, as well as other traits. These stones can be obtained primarily through the game’s Fusion system, collecting Formula, Materials, and Essence Cores by defeating enemy wraiths, purchased by the mysterious Traveling Vendor, discovered in forgotten chests throughout the world, and sometimes as a quest reward.

Essence Stones also have a link to Momentum, which you can generate in battle by striking wraiths. Momentum is shown as a gauge and fills with each increase. As you build up Momentum, you will become stronger. Momentum, along with the Essence Stones, can give you a lot of power. However there’s one catch. The damage that you take is also increased by Momentum, which makes you vulnerable. Keep in mind, hoarding Momentum also makes combat more risky!

Let’s say you are fighting a group of weaker monsters and one big monster, you can use the smaller ones to build up Momentum and use the final attack against the larger one. Since you’re in a battle with other players, it is possible that you could be struck and you may take some serious hits.

There’s a lot to try out combination-wise, and it can be interesting to vary the build you are using to adapt your playstyle to a situation. Build Presets let you save three different Essence Stones build combinations so you can change them on the spot, provided you’re not in combat. This allows you to save your preferred build and use the other Presets as a way to adapt or experiment with your approaches.

My favorite build involves an Active Stone named Endmost Wrath. This stone is also a Tainted essence Stone. Tainted stones are stronger but have negative side-effects. Endmost Wrath, in this instance, increases my damage output but reduces my HP down to 1. It also prevents healing. The negative effects are countered by three Passive Stones. They all give a buff if you have less than a specific level of HP. For example, they can automatically generate Momentum and shorten the cooldown for Active Stones. Saving Grace is the final passive stone in this build. It prevents damage from a fatal strike, and then goes into a cooldown. Saving Grace is a great addition to this build given the high risk involved.

A second build involves the combination of several Essence Stones in the Tricks Category. Allow one Stone to slow down wraiths, like Clock Master — an Active Stone that spawns a large bubble which all wraiths and their projectiles are slowed down. Timely Crystallization is a Passive Stone with a tiny chance of stuning wraiths that are slowed. The stun effect will work if it is activated. If so, then three more Passive Stones are added to add additional stun effects. They include increasing how long the opponent remains stunned for, increasing damage done to the stunned target, or increasing their health.
