Supernatural RPG Echo Generation Arrives In Late October

Echo Generation, a role-playing supernatural adventurer game is available just in time to celebrate Halloween. Two siblings investigate an alien encounter and their coming-of age story will be available on Xbox consoles as well as PC, October 21.

We last saw Echo Generation during the 2020 Xbox Games Showcase, and it was later playable via a limited-time demo last December. Here’s a synopsis. Your role is that of Dylan and his sister. Life imitates art when an unknown object crashes into town’s cornfields, leading to a series of unfortunate and bizarre events unfolding across town. The adults don’t seem to notice, so it’s up to the kids to get to the bottom of what’s happening. With its nostalgic ‘80s/’90s vibe, it’s hard not to compare Echo Generation’s atmosphere to Stranger Things, though the game is much sillier. Wear workout clothes to fight the raccoons!

Echo Generation is an RPG that uses turn-based mechanics. Some commands require timed button pressings, much like the Mario RPGs. You’re armed with weapons ranging from hockey sticks to laser pistols. The beautiful voxel art, cool monster designs, and equally quality lighting ups the game’s charm. Echo Generation looks great at Series X resolutions and 60 frames per second.

Echo Generation will be available for purchase on Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One. It’s priced at $24.99 and launches day one on Xbox Game Pass.
