Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the sequel to Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots. This game features the Cyborg Ninja Raiden taking the controls. Developer Platinum Games has made it so that players don’t have to hide in boxes and they can eviscerate their foes with fast-paced, stylized action. Since its launch in 2013, Revengence’s action and absurdity have garnered it a passionate internet fandom, but I have a little secret: I didn’t think the game was all that special when I played it at launch. However, years of being inundated with internet memes and being told my opinion is incorrect has inspired me to give Revengece another look. Will I acquire a new appreciation for the game nine years later? Can I slice as many watermelon slices? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
