Super Bowl: How to stream the game for free

Super Bowl LVII just around the bend. It’s the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, and the winner takes all (Madden NFL 23Thinks Philly will win. This should be an entertaining game. It will also have a fantastic halftime show with Rihanna. Whether you’re in it more for the game, the commercials, anticipated movie trailers like Fast X or the glitzy halftime performance, I’m here to tell you about all of the ways that you can tune in for free, plus other paid recommendations.

Which Super Bowl is It?

Kickoff will take place at 6:30 pm EST/3:30 pm PST Sunday February 12. Fox will broadcast pregame coverage at 1:05 p.m. EST (3:30 p.m. PST) on Sunday February 12.

Which time is it?

There’s no set time for the halftime show (featuring Rihanna) to begin, but it should take place at around 8 p.m., or slightly later, depending on the flow of the game.

Are there any places I can watch the Super Bowl from?

Fox is the sole broadcaster this year. If you live in the U.S. and have an antenna to receive local channels, all that is required to navigate to your nearest Fox affiliate is to use the navigation app. Access to Fox is almost guaranteed if your TV package includes Comcast, DirecTV or Dish Network.

What is the best way to watch the Super Bowl free of charge?

I’m glad you asked. Many over-the top (OTT) TV service, such as YouTube TV or FuboTV offer free trial for new subscribers. Those are sometimes extended to lapsed members who haven’t subscribed in a while, but we haven’t found any in time for the Super Bowl.

If you don’t want to pay a cent upfront, sign up for a free trial to any of the services below, and remember to terminate the service once you’re done with it. You never know what you might enjoy. It’s possible you will enjoy it so much that it stays in your subscription rotation.

NFL Plus

By choosing the “Monthly” tab, you can get a seven-day free trial to NFL Plus’ base tier, which provides access to Super Bowl LVII. It costs only $4.99 per month after the free trial. However, the app only works on smartphones and tablets, and it doesn’t support casting to a TV.

FuboTV offers a seven-day free trial for those who don’t have an account. Pro Quarterly is the base level and costs $74.99 per year. FuboTV can be accessed on all major streaming platforms including Apple TV and Android TV as well as Amazon Fire TV and Roku.

Two weeks of free trial for new customers. After that, you will need to pay $54.99 per monthly for your first three months. This is a 10% discount on the regular monthly price. Existing or former users are not eligible for free trial. The service can be used on many devices.

These services aren’t free, but they might be what you want

There was a time that almost every OTT provider offered a free trial. Although a handful of OTT service providers still provide free trial, this is no longer the norm. The services below aren’t free to start, but both offer a lot of content for the price. Sling TV offers half-off your initial month’s subscription. Hulu Plus Live TV’s $69.99 tier includes Hulu’s original programming, in addition to Disney Plus and ESPN Plus.

Sling TV gives you half-off your first month’s service with Sling Blue. This is the level that you need to watch the Super Bowl on Fox. Sling TV is available across all the major streaming platforms including Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.

Hulu Plus Live TV

Hulu’s Live TV tier that includes Hulu programming as well as Disney Plus and ESPN Plus costs $69.99 per month. There’s currently no free trial available. Hulu Plus Live TV offers the best value for some channels. Hulu is accessible on almost all streaming sites, no matter if you own a set top box or smart TV.
