SteamWorld Build Is A City-Builder Coming To Consoles And PC This Year
Thunderful’s next SteamWorld game has been announced and is called a “city-builder”.
SteamWorld Build, a brand new game-builder in SteamWorld’s universe was revealed yesterday at a Thunderful stream. It will be available on PC and consoles sometime this year. It is your mission to save a dying world. To do so, you must build a mining community to recover “vital long-lost technology.” You’ll need to manage your city as the needs of it, and the citizens living there, grow, and you’ll have to defend your creation from the deadly creatures that lurk below.
Watch the announcement trailer of SteamWorld Build below:
Steam’s Steam page says, “There is an abandoned mine beneath your town. This may contain anicent technology that can help you escape the impending doom.” To expand your community, you can use the resources below ground as well as the many ores found in the mine. Inspire new residential tiers in the search for deeper digging, untold riches and, ultimately, helping them to hightail it off this planet.
Thunderful predicts that as the town grows, more Steamfolk will move to your settlement in hopes of making it their home. Your city must be able to fire on all the cylinders to satisfy all their needs. When you start digging the ground and mining it, you will be “eventually” being hunted by something. As you travel deeper into the mines, your employees will need protection from unsightly creatures. Keep the walls in place to protect your Steamfolk.
These are additional SteamWorld Build features:
- You can set up in the Multi-Award winning SteamWorld Universe
- Create your SteamWorld mining village
- Discover and explore an abandoned mine.
- Optimize and manage increasingly complicated resource chains
- Be prepared for any dangers.
- Discover five unique SteamWorld-inspired maps that are full of secrets
- Easier to grasp and use keyboard and mouse with controllers or a controller
- There are three levels of difficulty that offer a challenging challenge for players of every ability.
Thunderful has an already-available Steam demo that you can check out if this appeals to you. Thunderful claims that although the demo doesn’t include controller support, the complete game will. At a later time, the demo will include controller support.
SteamWorld Build will launch the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC this year.
