Starfield leaker faces felony charges for game theft

Darin Harris, 29, was arrested days after uploading the footage and charged with felony theft — for theft, not leaking.

Harris started to shut down his social media pages a few days after, and was arrested on August 24. Local news outlet Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that police got a warrant to search Harris’ home. The FedEx package contained a copy StarfieldInside were six copies each of two versions of the games, as well as marijuana and handguns. One of these was said to have been stolen. Harris claimed to have purchased the games, as per the affidavit obtained Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Alongside the felony charge, Harris was booked on two misdemeanors — one for possession of marijuana, and another for property theft worth $1,000 or less. The theft charge for felony is for items worth between $2,500 and $10,000. Harris was freed on August 25 after posting a bond of $10,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 8.
