Stardew Valley developer announces Patch 1.6, with a new festival
Stardew ValleyDeveloper ConcernedApe (also known as Eric Barone) has revealed that there will be a patch for this humble life simulation game. ConcernedApe will reveal some of its secrets in Patch 1.6, including a festival. We don’t know very much about this update, but it will make the farmer’s yearly calendar a little busier.
ConcernedApe’s tweet shares some very short additions, including the festival, items, dialogue and secrets. Festivals are planned events that take place in Stardew Valley that are marked on the player’s calendar. Mayor Lewis writes a letter every year to the home of each player inviting them. The town closes down, animals are automatically fed, and the festival takes up the player’s day. Only the Night Market is an exception, as it has its own set of rules.
Stardew Valley version 1.6 is now available!

Other festivals are an opportunity to build friendships with neighbors. Some include special shops with goodies exclusives. Also, it will be great to have some new dialog options as well as ways to spend time with your old friends at the farm. It doesn’t sound like this will be a particularly large update, but we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store.
Stardew ValleySince its launch in 2010, the game has grown and expanded, adding new features. Farmer Krobus could be added to the home of 1.4 patch as a new roommate. Patch 1.5’s main feature was a whole new island, complete with a volcano dungeon. ConcernedApe has announced that a brand new game will be released in 2021 called Haunted Chocolatier with “some connection” to Stardew Valley.
