Star Trek: Strange New Worlds teaser gives Captain Pike a starring role
CBS Studios releases the first teaser of the new Star Trek star: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, starring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, James T. Kirk’s predecessor as commander of the USS Enterprise. Mount played Pike previously in Star Trek: DiscoveryAlthough it was originally introduced in the original version, Star TrekPilot in 1966.
The brief teaser shows Pike, in isolation on a snowy Earth, being called back into service — presumably to Starfleet. “Our first visit from the stars is always the province of children’s stories and science fiction until one day, it isnt,” says a monologue over flashes of, what else, a series of strange new worlds.
This new series has been added Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: ProdigyAnd Star Trek: PicardParamount Plus exclusively streaming the Trek series. Mount reprises his portrayal of Pike. Discovery’s Rebecca Romijn will return to play first officer “Number One,” and Ethan Peck will return to play Spock. Some other familiar characters Star Trek: The Original Series Characters will return to life with the help of new actors. Celia Rose Gooding, who will portray Nyota Ura, will be the first to play this role. Jess Bush, who will play Christine Chapel (originally played by Majel Barrett), will also return. It will debut on May 5.
