STALKER board game announced, from team behind Nemesis, ISS Vanguard

The Board Game STALKERAwaken Realms is developing the Nemesis Series, which currently has a version in the works. ISS VanguardAnd This War of Mine: The Board Game. The announcement came during an internet streaming presentation on Tuesday, alongside several other game announcements. Although no release date has been set, Gamefound will be launching a crowdfunding campaign by June’s end.

STALKER is a video game series that tells the tale of fictional armies who take refuge in the vicinity of the Chornobyl nuclear plant, in north Ukraine. It was destroyed in 1986. This series began with the publication of STALKER. Shadow of Chernobyl2007 was a landmark year for the open-world first person shooter. Sequels are included Clear Sky – STALKER STALKER: Call of Pripyat. The modern remake of the classic film, entitled STALKER 2 – Heart of ChornobylThe announcement of the upcoming IPO, in 2018 was made. It is anticipated that it will be completed by 2023.

GSC Game World is the maker of STALKER and will assist Awaken Realms in co-producing the game. The 1-4-player cooperative strategy game is described as a “zone-crawling” experience — a take on the popular dungeon crawling genre, which includes titles such as Gloomhaven, Star Wars: Imperial AssaultAnd Legends of the Dark: Descent. Many of the earlier materials have placeholder text.

From Tuesday’s news release:

A story can be broken down into 2-4 different scenarios. Players should plan to spend approximately. Each scenario will take approximately 2 hours to complete. The scenarios will involve stealth missions that allow you to quietly maneuver between unknown enemies and scout new locations. They also include tactical gunfights, retrieve missions, artifact hunting missions, tactical gunfights as well as retrieval missions. Every Stalker character will have its own unique abilities and can upgrade their gear.

Awaken Realms has also revealed a fantasy-inspired new board game, called Dragon EclipseThis game is for 1 or 2 players. The tactical card game will focus on “majestic and unique creatures you can battle, tame, catch, and train.”
